Free Chicken!!

Well, I am cheap/broke, so when someone says they are offering free food I pay attention!  Today is Cow Appreciation Day at good ole’ Chick-fil-A and if you dress like a cow you get a free meal!  I wanted to get a free meal, but the idea of going by myself without my kids was not entirely appealing.  BUT, I decided to let go of my pride and go for it!

It was quite funny walking into the mall and walking past strangers and have them COMPLETELY ignore the fact that I was dressed as a COW!  Seriously people!

After getting over the udder (did you like that!) humiliation of walking into the Mall dressed as a cow, I rounded the corner to Chick-fil-A and initially didn’t see ANYONE else dressed like a cow! I was so terrified that this Chick-fil-A was not participating!  And then mercifully I saw a couple cow costumes and my fears were alleviated.  As I got to the register I noticed my friends Jennie and Laura from HIGH SCHOOL were sitting in Chick-fil-A!  This wouldn’t be that strange except Jennie is a Missionary to ITALY!  Seriously, I think I’m gonna sneak into Chick-fil-A, grab my food and go, but instead I see people I actually know all the way from Italy!! Haha!  They both had a good laugh at me all dressed up since they had brought their kids dressed up, but they came dressed as adult humans, not cows! ;)

We ate and laughed and just had a great time!  Then a Chick-fil-A associate told us about a way we could all win a FREE shake!  All we had to do was walk around the mall and find 6 cows with red balloons on them and write down which store and what number balloon!  So now I had the pleasure of walking around the Mall dressed like a cow! Ha!  I got quite a few stares and a couple chuckles and we finally found all the cows/balloons!  We even ran into Bro. Bru and I ran into another old friend from college!  I just could not get over how many people I saw today that got to share in the ridiculousness of my cow costume! Definitely no more pride left for Bette Anne!

But I had a great time and got a lot of compliments on my homemade “Eat Mor Chikin” sign!  Nobody believed me that I free-handed it! ;)  I guess that Art class paid off! Haha!

Here are a few pictures of me in my costume!  Hope you enjoy and a Big Thanks to Chick-fil-A for putting this event together! ;)

(The Sign!  I just looked at Chick-fil-A’s one and did my best to copy it!  I’m pretty happy with how it came out!)

Real or Pretend..

My sis Renee posted this idea that she got from a friend.  She provided this list of things that are real or pretend and the idea is to ask your children if the items are REAL or PRETEND. I was very curious how Eli would do, because I didn’t even know if he knew what “Real” and “Pretend” were!

So Here are Eli’s ideas of REAL or PRETEND!

Eli: Age 4

Item

Real or Pretend?

Princesses Pretend
Hippopotamus’ Real
Robots Pretend
Fireflies Real
Dinosaurs Real
Dragons Real
Dragonflies Pretend
Magic Pretend
God Real
Hearts Real
Unicorns Pretend
Presidents Real
Monsters Real
Police Men Real
Alligators Real
Kings and Queens Real
Castles Real
China Not China, Just Country. ??
Rapunzel Real
George Washington Real
Moses Real
Goldilocks and the Three Bears Real
Buffaloes Pretend
California Real
Ghosts Pretend

I added that last one (Ghosts) because I asked Eli if he knew what REAL and PRETEND meant and he said, “Pretend like Ghosts?” :)  And for China I said, “Is the country of China real?  And he said, “It’s not China, just country!” Whatever that means! ;)

I’m pretty happy with how he did because at 4 he still hasn’t lost the BELIEVING spirit, but he does understand that there are some pretend things.. :)

So, who is willing to try it?!

Big Questions for a Little Boy..

The other day Eli asked me “Did God die on the cross?” and I said, “No, Jesus died on the cross.” Eli, “But I thought God did.” Me, “Jesus died on the cross, but he is God’s son.”  Eli, “Why did he die on the cross?” I then tried my best to explain that he died to take away our sins and then explained what sin was and how we all are sinners.  He seemed to accept that and then just moved on to playing.

The next day he stopped in the middle of eating and looked at me and said, “So, who died on the cross?”  And I said, “Jesus.”  Eli said, “To take away what?”  Me, “To take away our sins.”  Eli, “Oh, okay.. Well, he didn’t take away Reagan’s sins!”  I said, puzzled, “Why do you say that Eli?  He died for everybody's sins.” Eli, “Well, He didn’t take hers away cause she just got done yelling at me and hitting me!!”

I couldn’t hide my chuckle.. Sincerely love this age!

Website name change!

Just in case any of you have bookmarked this little old blog, I decided (with some encouragement from this chick) that my website address should match the blog title.

So.. the NEW website address is www.ourcrazyandwonderfullife.blogspot.com !  Yes, I know it's a little verbose, but most people just copy and paste or click on the link anyways! ;)

Thank you to anyone who actually takes the time to read my musings!

Egg Muffins!

I have become ADDICTED to Pinterest and getting all the AMAZING ideas for home improvement, photography, fashion, design and even recipes!  (If you want to learn all about my amazing new addiction then check out my sis's blog here for all you need to know!  If you need an invite, because I know you want one, then just send me your email and I'll send you one!)

So, back to the reason for this post.. Egg Muffins!!  I saw this on Pinterest and KNEW I had to make it! So, last night I whipped some up with my own little variation since I am never satisfied to just follow a recipe!  Who wants to do that?!

So, without further adieu (you know I had to google how to spell that!) here is my Egg Muffin creation! :)

First you spray the pan and lay the bacon in like this

Then you dice up some potatoes already seasoned and spoon some in each tin

Now add 1 egg per tin

Aren't they pretty? :)
You can scramble some if you like and add your seasoning!

This is one of my favorite easy seasoning mixes!
Bake @ 350 degrees for 10-15 mins depending on how you like your eggs!

Then plate and serve! :)

Super easy and my 2 and 4 year old gobble them right up!  Let me know if you tried this and what variations you made!
(I know I'll add cheese and diced onions next time, but I didn't have any of either, so this had to do!)

Happy 4th of July America!

I wanted to take the kids and DO something today, but was at a loss for what to do.  I happened upon a link to the City of Shelby and turns out they had a 4th of July event at the Park with 5 or 6 bouncy houses INDOORS (This is a MUST in this ridiculous heat!) and for $3 per person you could bounce to your hearts content as well as ride the Carousel and the Train unlimited amounts of time!

We had so much fun and even though poor Reagan was scared to death at the SIGHT of the carousel horses, she eventually succumbed to my pressure and tried it and of course LOVED it! Smile

Here are a few pics from my iPhone of our fun day, so hope you enjoy and Happy Independence Day America!!

Here we go again!

Been under pressure to start up blogging again, and I'm just not in the same place in my life for the old blog to apply anymore, so I've started a new one! Hope to post about our adventures as a family of three and my new obsession with little projects around my apartment!

Hope you enjoy reading about our lives!
